Naufal is now 23days old & i finally managed to get the hang of things. As in the whole motherhood routine.
Lets back track a little. To my birth story. 23 days ago. Dated 15th May 2007.........
I was admitted to East Shore hospital on that fateful day 9am in the morning. All jittery. Khalil was with me throughout & i was braving myself foe what was about to come. I was 3cm dilated then & the gynae inserted a plastic hook-like thing to burst my waterbag. I was put on drip to further induce the labour. I was told of the 3 methods of curbing the pain. The gas, the drug & finally epidural. When the contractions start kicking in 1/2 hr later, i swear the gas was as ineffective as it can get! Either my treshold of pain was too low or i do not know how to breathe in the gas. Through the mouth or nose? I dont know.
An hour later, around 10.30am, i caved. I asked for the epidural. I had to curl up into a ball and a long, long needle was stuck into my spine to allow the epidural to kick in. Aaahhh. No pain. Literally. To date, i swear by epidural for childbirth.
My labour lasted for 3 hours & many said that its one of the fastest labour & that i should have just hold on a bit longer so that i could go without the epidural. Heh. Anyways, Haziq's umbillical cord was either short or i was not strong enough to push so, the gynae had to vacuum him out of me. When Haziq's finnaly born, i was exhausted. My body felt weak & i barely had the energy to look at him. Kental arh Raudhah!!!
I was then pushed to the normal ward & there, i slept for like 2hours before i woke up & asked for my baby. Then on, i realised, i'm finally a mummy.
Naufal Haziq now completes me & khal. Alhamdullilah.
