"Try not to put on too much weight when you come for your check up next month." Tats wat my gynae said to me at the end of my monthly check up. My current weight is 53.1kg & i'm 5mths preggers. Due to my small built, she advised that my baby preferably not exceed 2.8kg during full term,if not i'll have trouble delivering & might have to opt for a C-section. Ugghh. I shudder at the mere thought of being cut across my tummy. Better start eating less. But I have not really been eating that much to begin with. I rarely take breakfast. Lunch will usually be something light like noodles. I loathe the sight of rice during lunch. And more often than not, I'll usually skip dinner. So where is all these extra pounds coming from??
Maybe its due to my few indulgences with hubby dearest lately. On my birthday, we had a simple yet nice dinner. Fish & Co. @ Glass House was the ideal setting. It was where we went on our first date & now, 3 & 1/2 yrs later, we were there celebrating my birthday. Then, the following Saturday, I had a sudden craving for authentic Turkish food. The last time i had my Iskender kebab was when we were in Bursa,Turkey. So when hubby told me i could choose between Sofra Turkish Kitchen & Alaturka Turkish Restaurant, i settled for the latter. And I soo had no regrets. I was reunited with my Iskender kebab (its thin slices of lamb cooked with a special sauce, pieces of turkish bread & a dollop of yoghurt on the top). Heaven i tell u..! Hubs had the Adana kebab (spicy lamb with a side of vegetables & pillaf rice). Sedaaap giler. Baklava ( a sweet Turkish dessert with pistacchio nuts) with Dondurma (tats Turkish ice-cream for you) was up next. The perfect ambience, complete with the evil eyes(a Turkish superstition) & Turkish tiles on the walls, the metallic Turkish plates was just a cherry on my entire pie. Though Turkish food tasted better when we had them in Turkey,Alaturka Turkish Restaurant @ 16 Bussorah Street has officially become my new favourite restaurant.
